Dennis Abbe was an American glass artist and interior designer whose work was closely associated with the revival of Art Deco during the 1970s and 1980s. Having studied at the Art Institute of Chicago and the Art Center School in Los Angeles, Abbe developed a specialization in decorative glass engraving, producing architectural panels, doors and screens for residential and commercial interiors. He was a founder and the first president of the Art Deco Society of New York.
Condition: Good overall condition with discoloration and tarnishing to the copper trim and wear to the brass plated hinge hardware. Fixed cast brass handles are present on both sides; their originality has not been established.
