Esther Zuiderveld
Netherlander
Esther Zuiderveld Art creates handmade mirror sculptures for the wall, each one organically shaped and released in strictly limited editions of no more than 44 pieces worldwide.
Every work is made by hand in the family studio in the north of the Netherlands, founded in 1921. Esther grew up in her family's woodwork factory, and today maker and brand are one: each piece leaves the studio numbered within its edition.
The mirrors are not made to show a room. They are made to hold a moment. A glance becomes a pause, a reflection becomes a quiet conversation with yourself. In a space, they behave like light: softening, opening, changing with the hour.
Esther works between Amsterdam and New York and collaborates with interior designers, architects, art advisors, collectors and hospitality projects. Alongside the editions, the studio takes on a limited number of bespoke commissions, shaped to the proportions and story of a specific space.
