Boccara Gallery is delighted to announce its upcoming exhibition, Man Ray: Revolving Doors Tapestries, the first U.S. presentation of this historic series. Officially representing Atelier 3, the renowned Parisian workshop that wove these masterpieces, Boccara Gallery is proud to feature the complete set of ten tapestries. Originally conceived by Man Ray in 1916 as collages, the works were finally brought to life in textile form in 1973. The exhibition opens November 5th at our gallery in Midtown Manhattan.
Boccara Gallery is a leading international gallery specializing in prestigious modern and antique tapestries, and artistic rugs. Since 1950, Boccara has specialized in antique textiles and has developed one of the most important collections of tapestries from modern masters under the direction of tapestry and textile expert, Didier Marien. This collection was built over a 30-year period with a rigorous selection process. Some of the most important artists we feature include Alexander Calder, Man Ray, Georges Braque, Ossip Zadkine, Sonia Delaunay, Fernand Léger, Jean Lurçat, Victor Vasarely, Pablo Picasso, and Diego Giacometti. The gallery is also proud to possess one of the most complete collections of Jean Lurçat’s work.
With a presence in major capitals like New York and Paris, Boccara Gallery continues to showcase exceptional art and design.
