Lance Thompson Inc. focuses on Twentieth Century Design & Decorative Arts and exhibits unique art and antiques. Offerings are especially considered, documented, or learned to showcase all areas of Antique, 20th Century, Post-War European & American Design. Encompassing all price points we value the development of all design throughout history and how it enriches and informs contemporary life. Favoring a warm minimalism the gallery focuses on craftsmanship and quality. Interior design work includes homes in the Hamptons, New York City, and properties on the East and West Coasts. Lance Thompson studied Art History and French at a private college in the Midwest where his first internship was writing grants in the development department at The Art Institute of Chicago. Subsequently studying in France and England, he worked at Durini Gallery (Latin American Art) in Knightsbridge. Upon finishing his degree in the US, Lance returned to London to work for the Roy Miles Gallery in Mayfair on Bruton Street where his first sale was a pair of paintings to Sheikh Maktoum. Relocating to New York he worked many years for Richard Feigen at Richard L. Feigen & Co., the legendary art dealer, gallery, and collector specializing in Old Masters, Modern, and Impressionism, dealing with many of the top collectors, art collections, and museums in the world. Later, he became Associate Director at Jack Kilgore & Co., a private gallery specializing in 17 & 18th C. Dutch and Flemish paintings. In these positions he regularly attended and exhibited at TEFAF, Maastricht and the Park Avenue Armory shows in New York. Increasingly interested in furniture and objects from exposure to private client homes, time spent in and around auction houses and museums, and a constant flow of catalogues and research materials Lance turned his focus to Antiques, 20th C. Furniture and Decorative Arts as a Buyer and Director for many of New York's dealers and leading galleries. Dealing privately since 2012, Lance Thompson Inc. was established in 2017 and has a strong following of international Architects, Interior Designers, Collectors, and Private Clients.
