This single family home was an extensive renovation that transformed a dated house into a spectacular modern tropical home. We worked closely with the owners and the builder, Plaza Construction, to bring the family’s dream home to reality. We designed a large open floor plan and used architectural elements, such as the staircase to create visual impact. The large, four-screen media wall in the open atrium allows for entertaining large groups, while other rooms such as the media room were designed for more intimate family gatherings. We kept the house very minimal, while using Delta lighting to create dramatic moods throughout. The kitchen was a central focus of the design so we integrated a table into the cabinetry, as the family uses it every day for their primary dining area. Since the family spends so much time in this room, we located it on the property so it would provide the best view of the bay. The master suite is also very special…we created a sexy bathroom with a combination shower and tub in the middle of the room, both facing directly out to Biscayne Bay. This suite also includes a cozy sitting area and two custom walk in closets. Now that the family has been living in the home for several months, they are thrilled and truly feel that their expectations were exceeded.
