The very definition of a place to escape, this house on a private island near Key West is accessible only by private launch with access from a private beach. It’s a two story Key West style cottage with clapboard siding, gingerbread ornament and mahogany trim. We were asked to renovate the existing house and make it brighter and more open.
The challenge was that the owners of the house had tired of “Key West Casual”. The end product was a certain Southern formality that is part Charleston and part Key West, without losing a sense of sophostication.
