Afro Celotto

Italian, 1963
Afro Celotto is an Italian glass artist known for his intricate and colorful glass sculptures. He was born in Murano, Italy in 1963, and he comes from a family of glassmakers who have been working in the field for generations.

Celotto's work is characterized by its use of bold, bright colors and intricate patterns, which he achieves through a combination of traditional glassmaking techniques and his own innovative approaches. He often uses a technique known as murrine, in which colored glass rods are fused together to create complex patterns and designs.

Celotto's pieces have been exhibited in galleries and museums around the world, including at the Museum of Glass in Tacoma, Washington, and the Galleria Rossella Junck in Venice, Italy. He has also collaborated with a number of prominent designers and brands, including Fendi and Venini.

In addition to his glass sculptures, Celotto has also designed a range of home accessories and furniture pieces that incorporate his signature use of glass and color. His designs have been featured in a number of design publications and have won numerous awards for their innovative approach to traditional glassmaking techniques.
