Antony Densham
New Zealander
Antony Densham (b. 1972) is a New Zealand–born abstract painter based in Auckland. With a Postgraduate Diploma from Elam School of Fine Arts, he has developed a distinct visual language that explores the fleeting moods and textures of the landscape. Using acrylic on fine art paper or canvas, Densham layers spontaneous, revealing brushstrokes that balance abstraction with subtle cues of natural vistas—from rugged mountains to lush forests.
His intuitive process reflects a dialogue between concealing and unveiling emotional depth, creating what feels like a psychic landscape. He has been a finalist in prestigious awards—including the James Wallace Art Awards and the NZ Painting and Printmaking Award—and exhibited in New Zealand, Australia, China, and the U.S. His work is available through IdeelArt (London/Paris), Kathryn Markel Fine Arts (New York), and other international galleries.
