Arne Jacobsen

Arne Jacobsen (1902-1971) was a Danish architect and designer who is considered one of the most important figures in 20th century Danish design. He studied architecture at the Royal Danish Academy of Fine Arts and went on to establish his own architectural firm in 1929.
 
Jacobsen's work was characterized by his belief in functionalism and modernism, and he was a master at integrating architecture and design. He created a number of iconic furniture designs, many of which are still in production today, including the Egg Chair, the Swan Chair, and the Ant Chair.
 
Jacobsen was also a prolific architect and is known for designing a number of notable buildings, including the Royal Hotel in Copenhagen, which features his signature Egg and Swan chairs in the lobby. He was also responsible for the design of the SAS Royal Hotel, which is considered one of the first examples of modernist architecture in Denmark.
 
 
Jacobsen's work has had a profound influence on Danish design and continues to be highly sought after by collectors and design enthusiasts around the world.
