Babou features European furniture, art and objects from the 17th century through the 1970’s with a focus on classic, unique and iconic Italian design from the 1930’s through the 1950’s. Our founder, Catherine McCarthy has been sourcing the globe for over 25 years; having worked for the foremost European antiques dealers in New York City, her decades of knowledge and eye for quality and authenticity allows us to present a consistently refined aesthetic. You'll find works by the finest 20th century makers and masters, such as Osvaldo Borsani, Gio Ponti, Mario Bellini, Paolo Buffa, Angelo Mangiarotti and Afra and Tobia Scarpa, as well as pieces which simply exhibit timelessness, great form and exquisite craftsmanship. Catherine is passionate about the history of European decorative arts and is inspired to continue to source and offer treasures from centuries past.
We are devoted to showcasing beautiful furniture and objects; the unique, the exceptional and the unexpected. Based in New York City, we work with architects, interior designers and private clients around the globe.
