Bruce Dorfman
Bruce Dorfman, a prolific artist with a rich exhibition history, has showcased his work in fifty-six solo exhibitions across New York, the United States, and internationally. Recent highlights include exhibitions at prestigious venues like the June Kelly Gallery in NYC and the Gallery of the American Fine Arts Society, where his "Inclusive Moments" captivated audiences. Dorfman's artistic journey has been marked by retrospectives and showcases, including "Past / Present: A Retrospective" at Monmouth University, NJ, and "Ways and Means" at the UBS Gallery in NYC. His work has also been featured at the University of Iowa Museum of Art and the Art Students League, among others.
Recognized for his artistic excellence, Dorfman has received multiple grants and awards, including the prestigious Pollock-Krasner Foundation Award/Grant in 2017 and 2008. His contributions to the art world have been celebrated through numerous accolades, including grants from the New York State Council on the Arts, a Fulbright Fellowship, and recognition from institutions like the Rockefeller Foundation and the U.S. Department of State. Dorfman's artistry has been widely acclaimed, with his work being featured in prominent exhibitions such as "The Masters" at the Art Students League and garnering attention from publications like ARTnews, The New York Times, and Art in America. His dedication to the arts extends beyond creation, as Dorfman has been teaching at the Art Students League since 1964, enriching the lives of aspiring artists with his expertise and passion.
