Dimitri Likissas

Belgian, 1969
Biography
Dimitri Likissas (born 1969) hails from Belgium with deep Greek roots, cultivating creativity throughout his life's journey. After relocating to the Caribbean in his early 20s, he embarked on a professional trajectory that transitioned from graphic design to becoming a corporate leader in a prominent media publishing firm. Simultaneously, he nurtured his passion for painting, creating art alongside his career.

Taking a leap of faith, Dimitri left his corporate role to embrace his true calling as a full-time artist. His captivating creations have seamlessly found their way into numerous private collections spanning Europe and America. Through his distinctive colored dot arrangements, he masterfully metamorphoses imagery into abstract and geometric forms. Exploring the boundless potential of chromatic and tonal scales, visual planes, and two-dimensional frameworks, his works offer a visually exhilarating experience.

Dimitri draws inspiration from iconic pop art figures, notably his personal encounter with Keith Haring during his youth, alongside the indelible influences of Roy Lichtenstein and Andy Warhol. His dots, meticulously patterned, evoke living organisms and atomic structures—a testament to his belief that matter comprises discrete units. These harmoniously coexisting dots exemplify perpetual movement and rolling, embodying his unique optical language and matchless artistic style.

With unparalleled skill, Dimitri beckons us to perceive the world as a magical, dynamic, and invigorating panorama—a vivid testament to his mastery and unparalleled artistic vision.
