Jim Rennert

American, 1958
Jim Rennert (born 1958) is an American sculptor known for his figurative works exploring the challenges of modern professional life. Raised in Las Vegas and Salt Lake City, Rennert left a decade-long business career to pursue sculpture starting in 1990. He began exhibiting in galleries in 1993 and has gained wide recognition.

His signature pieces feature simplified figures of men in suits made from bronze and laser-cut steel, often incorporating elements like briefcases and ladders as metaphors for ambition and obstacles. While early works emphasized movement, more recent sculptures have a contemplative tone.

In 2016, Rennert began creating digital drawings available as large-scale prints. He continues to exhibit widely and has works in private and corporate collections, including the monumental sculpture "THINK BIG" displayed in New York City’s Union Square.
