Maxime Old
French, 1910 - 1991
Born into a family of master cabinet makers in 1910, French designer Maxime Old joined his father and grandfather in the shop they had held for decades in a suburb of Paris. After school, Old studied in the studio of Émile-Jacques Ruhlmann. Ruhlmann's influence and that of the Deco period can be seen in Old's work. Maxime Old's furniture chairs & desks remain popular worldwide.
