Per Lütken (1916-1998) was a Danish glass designer who played a significant role in the development of modern Scandinavian glass design. He was born in Denmark and trained as a glassblower, joining the Danish glass company Holmegaard in 1942.
 
Lütken was known for his innovative use of shapes and colors in glass design, and his work helped establish Holmegaard as a leading glass manufacturer. His designs were characterized by their simplicity and elegance, often featuring organic shapes and muted colors.
 
Lütken designed a wide range of glassware, including bowls, vases, and pitchers, many of which are still produced today. His most iconic designs include the "Canada" bowl, the "Charlotte Amalie" vase, and the "No. 5" pitcher.
 
Lütken's contributions to Danish glass design helped establish a distinctive Scandinavian aesthetic that was characterized by its simplicity, functionality, and beauty. His work continues to be celebrated by collectors and design enthusiasts around the world, and his legacy has inspired generations of contemporary glass designers.
