Pierre Girre aka Pierre D'Avesn
French, 1901 - 1990
His real name Pierre Girre. Pierre D'Avesn was a student of François Decorchement at the School of Decorative Arts. He was hired by Lalique where he stayed 10 years. He works for Daum between 1930 and 1936 when he developed the production of molded pressed glass. He joined the Verlys company in 1937 in the holophane glass department. After 1945, we find him at the Crystal Glass Maker "Choisy le Roi" where he reissues most of his old models and creates new ones. He remained there until his retirement in 1984. Considered one of the elite of the glass artists of the Art Deco era, he died in Paris at the age of 90 years old.
