Raphael Macek is an internationally recognized equine photographer and artist, known for his powerful large-scale archival pigment prints capturing the grace, emotion, and strength of horses. Guided by the philosophy of “interaction without interference,” he approaches each subject with patience and respect, allowing the animal’s natural presence to shine through.
Born in Brazil and currently based in Greenwich, Connecticut, Macek earned both his BFA and MFA in photography and film in New York. Since 2007, he has traveled globally to document horses across continents including Africa and Europe, exhibiting his work in over 25 solo shows and numerous international art fairs such as Paris Photo and Art Basel Miami.
His limited-edition works, including series like Immersion, Majesty, Equo, and Forma, are admired for their rich tonal range, dynamic composition, and emotional depth.
