Robert Kuo is a Chinese-American designer and artist known for his work in the fields of furniture, lighting, and home decor. Born in Taiwan in 1949, Kuo grew up in a family of metalworkers and studied traditional Chinese design and art at the National Palace Museum in Taipei.
 
In the 1970s, Kuo moved to the United States and began working as a designer and craftsman, drawing on his background in traditional Chinese design and combining it with contemporary techniques and materials. His work is characterized by a fusion of Eastern and Western design elements, with a focus on natural materials, organic forms, and intricate details.
 
Kuo's furniture, lighting, and home decor pieces are highly sought after by collectors and design enthusiasts around the world. His work has been featured in museums and galleries, including the Metropolitan Museum of Art in New York City, and has been recognized with numerous awards and accolades.
 
In addition to his work as a designer, Kuo is also a philanthropist and has supported a variety of charitable causes related to the arts, education, and social justice. He is a founding board member of the China Institute in America, a non-profit organization dedicated to promoting understanding and appreciation of Chinese culture in the United States.
