Tommaso Barbi was an Italian designer and artist, best known for his work in lighting, furniture, and interior design. He was born in Florence, Italy in 1944 and studied art and design in his hometown, as well as in Rome and Milan.
 
Barbi's work is characterized by his use of high-quality materials such as brass, bronze, and crystal, as well as his attention to detail and craftsmanship. He was particularly known for his elegant and refined lighting fixtures, which often featured organic forms and geometric shapes.
 
Barbi worked with a number of prominent clients throughout his career, including luxury brands and private clients in Europe, the United States, and Asia. He also collaborated with some of the leading architects and interior designers of his time, including Renzo Mongiardino and Peter Marino.
 
In addition to his work as a designer, Barbi was also a painter and sculptor, and his artwork was exhibited in galleries and museums throughout Italy and Europe. He passed away in 2015, but his legacy as one of the most influential designers of the 20th century lives on.
