Murano
Italian
Murano glass is created exclusively on the island of Murano, within the borders of the city of Venice in Northern Italy. With origins reaching back to the Roman Empire, Murnao glass peaked in 15th & 16th centuries. In the 20th century, murano glass adopted a new identity and this artisan craftmanship extends to today's modern glass makers. Many works are known by their artist & makers and others remain anonymous products produced by this glassmaking culture. The murano method for glass making results in unique coloring featuring beautiful patterns & shapes. Murano glass, vases, containers, sculpture, lighting and furniture are considered fine art and are highly desired by collectors & designers throughout the world.
