Description
From the Braniff Place World Headquarters in Dallas, Texas comes this massive, one of a kind low-relief 9’ world map. It has a functional Derby Clock on the left side and a thermometer on the right. The numerical strip at the bottom is a functional electric time-zone clock. All of the locations to which Braniff serviced are labeled. Every destination has an LED light installed in series so that it can be programmed to illuminate to almost any color. The lights are remote controlled and were custom installed by and electronic engineer. They also perform a number of different ‘light shows’ with variable speeds and dimmable brightness. The frame is cherrywood and gold anodized aluminum.
This is a remarkable one of a kind piece that is perfect for anyone who loves Alexander Girard, Braniff airlines or simply aspires to world domination. (Doomsday unknown.)
Very good condition with some slight patina to the gold part of the low relief world map.
Circa 1960. -
