Description
A charming and exquisitely crafted late-19th century porcelain mantel clock by the Ansonia Clock Company, titled “La Nord” and produced in collaboration with the prestigious Royal Bonn of Germany.
The finely modeled porcelain case is beautifully hand-painted in a delicate still-life motif of florals and foliates, featuring soft lavender ,pink yellow hues against a off white & blue ground, richly accented with gilt detailing and romantic rose embellishments. The back of the case is marked “Bonn, Germany "La Nord”, confirming its authenticity and origin.
This elegant timepiece houses an American-made brass 8-day time and strike movement with Brocot escapement, signed on both the porcelain dial and movement by Ansonia Clock Co.—a mark of enduring quality and craftsmanship. It measures Approximately. 14 1/4" High by 11 3/4 " Wide and 5" Deep. The porcelain case is in very good antique condition with no chips, cracks, or repairs, typical wear consistent of age and use. The clock is in working condition. An exceptional decorative and collectible piece—rich in color, character, and the late 19th-century charm—ideal for mantel, shelf, or display cabinet. -
