Description
A superb late-19th century porcelain mantel clock, titled “La Manche”, created by the renowned Ansonia Clock Company in collaboration with Royal Bonn of Germany—famed for their exquisite hand-painted porcelain work.
The case is masterfully crafted in porcelain and features a richly detailed hand-painted still life of florals and foliates in soft shades of lavender, yellow, and green. Delicate rose motifs and refined gilt accents add a romantic and timeless touch to the piece. The back of the case bears the mark “Bonn, Germany "La Manche”, confirming its authenticity and heritage.
Housed within is an American-made brass 8-day time and strike movement with Brocot escapement, signed both on the dial and the movement by Ansonia Clock Co., a mark of exceptional quality and precision.
Measuring approximately 14" high by 14" wide and 5" deep, the clock presents beautifully and is in very good overall antique condition, with no chips, cracks, or repairs. The porcelain dial and original hands remain intact, further enhancing its decorative appeal. A highly collectible and decorative timepiece—graceful, refined, and a true testament to 19th-century artistry and horology. -
