Chinoiserie Display Cabinet / Hand Gilt Black Lacquered Wood Vitrine
-
Description
magnificently handcrafted chinoiserie cabinet of the highest quality. This was made in England & dates from the 1930’s.
This is one of the finest examples we have ever come across, it is extremely well made and is also extremely heavy! The lacquered chinoiserie is beautifully executed throughout, this comprising of two cabinets, each with interiors lined with antiqued mirror, the fronts and sides paneled in glass , each with a pair of door opening to reveal heavy glass interior shelves. The thick glass shelves are bevelled. The two cabinets are set into a common crown and base , allover decorated with chinoiserie scenes. What’s really nice is the mirrored inside back panel. This is in absolutely amazing condition for its age with minimal wear, it has been so well looked after. -
