French Bronze & Slate Three Piece Garniture / Bust of Nenelaus

    Excellent craftsmanship French gilt bronze and slate three piece clock garniture from the mid 19th century with the bust of Menelaus King of Sparta. The garniture set include one Clock that is surmounted with a removable bust of Menelaus , King of Sparta with two footed side urn pieces. The French also features a brass ebauche 8-day spring driven time movement. The movement is signed by the maker's with the initials S. Martie & Cie Mark. The clock case and the side footed urns are in very good condition with appropriate wear consistent with age. Minor chip on the front base of the clock. One repaired foot to one of the urn side piece. The clock measures 28 inches high x 17 3/4 inches wide x 8 inches deep. Each footed side urn piece measures 17inches high x 7 3/4 inches wide x 7 inches deep.
