Description
This pair of large wood carvings was used to decorate the ox carts that were widely used in old Burma. They were carved in the shape of the bird Hong. Hong is a mythical bird of infinite grace. As an auspicious creature, it symbolizes miracles and was widely used as a motif in architectural and other designs in Southeast Asia.
