Oversized Vintage French Silver Compact Case by Boucheron

A large silver compact case with gilt surface and inset rubies by Boucheron Paris circa 1930s-1940s, of Art Deco period and style. The silver case is quote large compared to similar pieces and can almost function like a small purse. It features an iconic openwork top façade with incised motif of a large bouquet, backed by hidden mirrors. The spray of the floral arrangement was set with eleven cabochon red rubies. The clasp on the front took a petalled floral pattern set with an additional ruby. The impressive case is quite large in size and opens to five smaller compartments, with mirrors and two cylinder-holders for lipstick and mini perfume. The back and sides as well as the interiors all have ribbed surface.
It measures 15cm by 8cm by 2.5cm (about 5.91"x3.15"x1")
Signed along the inner border, Boucheron Paris, BT No. 875012, French assay marks; with maker's mark Helluin-Mattlinger. Helluin-Mattlinger (c.1935-1959) is a jeweler in Paris, France that specialized in boxes, cases, minaudières and powder compacts. They produced items for celebrated stores such as Boucheron and Lacloche Frères.
