Description
An iconic hand-foot wood sculpture by celebrated Mexican American surrealist artist Pedro Friedeberg (1936-), circa 1960s. The tabletop model is of rare rendition in large size showcasing a hand with open palm and elongated fingers supported by a foot. Constructed in carved block parts of wood (likely Mohagany), the individual sections were meticulously joined together with wood dowels. The organic curve and contoured form are instantly recognizable of the artist's design. The workmanship is fluid, and the piece remains in fine condition. Signature under the feet as shown.
