Description
Exceptionally rare, this Austrian Bronze Dinner Bell was created by Franz Xaver Bergmann. Realistically detailed, the bell can be made functional by having it re-wired by a professional electrician. It is signed on the underside, as seen in photo 5. This has been in our private collection for over a quarter of a century and we now are offering to someone else who might appreciate its odd beauty as much as we did. Bats are often maligned, even feared because there is little known about these nocturnal creatures. They are indispensable in controlling the insect population and can devour over 600 mosquitoes in an hour. In Chinese and other cultures, bats represent Good Luck and Fortune. Measures approximately 7 1/4 inch across the winds by 3 inches high.
