Description
This elegant and stylish Sterling Silver Compact from Denmark was created by Georg Jensen. The Compact is Hallmarked Georg Jensen and stamped Sterling, Denmark, Serial # 160. It features a dolphin on the cover. The piece is consistent with Georg Jensen’s grace and sophistication. This is an unusual compact made from sterling silver by Georg Jensen Co. USA manufactured during WWII when Georg Jensen was not producing in Denmark because of the war. It is round shaped. Hinge and clasp are in perfect working order make for a tight closure. Mirror is scratch free and clear. This is a beautiful Compact dating early 20th Century, initialed – Jak, A&AL, 20-5-42.
