Description
This rare diminutive size garden fountain of Demeter retains exceptional definition to the details of her robe and the base she is mounted on. Demeter is the Olympian goddess of the harvest and agriculture, presiding over grains and the fertility of the earth. In ancient Greece, Demeter can also be described as the goddess over the sacred law and the cycle of life and death. This symbolic figure in Greek mythology has been revered for over a thousand years.
