Lucite and Limestone Column or Pedestal
-
Description
A late 20th-century pedestal column made of lucite and limestone. The base is made of clear lucite with some scuffing. The top half of the column is ornately and exquisitely carved limestone. The limestone features acanthus leaves, ram's heads, egg and dart, and rosette motifs. A stunning and unusual example demonstrated the pairing of timeless design with modern materials. A column or pedestal would look equally wonderful on its own or with a sculpture atop it.
