Monumental in scale and beautifully carved in high relief with Classical figures, these exceptional garden urns, made in continental Europe c.1900, are in campana form and come mounted on modern limestone plinths. Similar in design to that of the so-called Medici vase, they feature extensive relief sculpture in friezes around the main body, depicting scantily-clad Classical figures, mounted upon waisted socles, with rope-twists, and square bases. The limestone plinths upon which they are mounted are a later, though highly fitting, addition.
