Description
Fiber art by contemporary aboriginal artist Allison Guwanjguwanj. It depicts a dreamtime creature called "Yawkyawk" which is the ancestor of the clan. It is a mermaid-like creature living in the water. The pandanus fibers were field collected by the artist and hand dyed with natural dyes from plants and soil.
