Description
A refined 19th century Italian white porcelain sculpture by Capodimonte, depicting Prudence, one of the classical virtues. Executed in Italy during the 19th century, this sculpture reflects the elegance and precision of Capodimonte porcelain, renowned for its delicate modeling and expressive detail.
The figure of Prudence is portrayed holding a mirror, symbolizing self-knowledge, reflection, and wisdom gained from examining one’s actions and past experiences. The mirror may also be paired symbolically with a serpent, referencing vigilance and prudence in moral conduct. She stands atop a classically inspired plinth, carefully modeled to harmonize with the graceful proportions of the figure.
Marked with the “Crowned N” Capodimonte mark, confirming its authenticity and Italian origin. The pure white porcelain emphasizes the refined drapery, delicate facial features, and classical elegance typical of Capodimonte craftsmanship. It stands about Height 16 inches, Width 5 inches, Depth 5 inches.
