A beautiful, decorative midcentury Rimini blue glazed fish sculpture. Designed by Aldo Londi, manufactured by Bitossi Ceramiche / Italy in the 1950s. Handcrafted with hand carved geometric design in a glazed vibrant turquoise and cobalt blue. In very good condition. Please notice, that there is production-related tension crack on its underneath, as an evidence of the handmade production process. This should not be considered as a defect, please see the pictures.
Aldo Londi (1911–2003) was an Italian ceramic artist and designer. Starting as the artistic director at Bitossi in 1946, Londi played a pivotal role in shaping the company's design identity. His most famous collection is the "Rimini Blu" series, characterized by vibrant blue hues and hand-carved geometric patterns.
Bitossi Ceramiche, founded in the 19th century in Montelupo Fiorentino, Italy, is a prestigious ceramics manufacturer. Under Londi's leadership, the brand gained international recognition for its innovative and artisanal designs, blending traditional Italian craftsmanship with modern aesthetics. -
