Beautiful original Art Deco bronze sculpture of a woman with a dove, from France, Paris, around 1925.
Signed “A. GENNARELLI” on the plinth and numbered ‘A-7291’.
Artist: Affortunato Gennarelli (1881-1943)
Additionally provided with round foundry mark of the renowned “Fonderie des Bords de Seine”, Paris.
Exquisite bronze sculpture by the Italian-French sculptor A. Gennarelli, created around 1925.
The elegant, unclothed female figure sits upright on a classical pedestal and holds a dove in her outstretched hand - a poetic symbol of peace, freedom and hope.
The dynamic movement of the flowing hair and the graceful gestures are typical of Art Deco and show Gennarelli's stylistic proximity to the Écoles de Paris.
Executed in fine bronze with a warm, slightly brownish nuanced patina.
