Description
"Tioga" is by Bilhenry Walker in aircraft-quality aluminum with stainless steel nuts and bolts. Walker designs his sculptures for his preferred medium of aluminum and then extrudes the aluminum components in his Milwaukee, Wisconsin studio, polishes them, and then assembles them into his dynamic creations. "Tioga" is a tabletop or pedestal sculpture by this innovative artist who is also known for his monumental outdoor installations and his aluminum, futuristic art furniture.
The angular directions and the twists and turns of this sleek sculpture reflect light in dramatic ways which suggest movement, so evident in all his art.
"Tioga" rests on three artist-made aluminum discs. It is signed and dated. We like how it looks on an 18th or 19th century sideboard, or on a 17th century court cupboard. -
