AT16 coat rack by Osvaldo Borsani for Tecno, produced in the mid-1960s.
Designed in 1961, this coat rack looks more like the frame of a suspended animation than a domestic object.
Unlike traditional coat racks that take up floor space with bulky legs, the AT16 thrives on tension. It is pressure-mounted between the ceiling and the floor thanks to a black anodized aluminum telescopic pole. It is a straight, thin, and decisive line that cuts through the volume of the room without breaking it.
Another icon of Italian design inventiveness and vision in that decade.
