Carl-Harry Stålhane Unique Hand Signed Jug Vase for Rörstrand, Sweden, 1967.
This is a beautiful and colorful hand signed unique studio pottery art piece by Carl-Harry Stålhane (1920-1990), not a more common multiple. Stålhane is one of the most sought-after Scandinavian mid-century studio pottery artists. Truly mesmerizing colors and glazing, which are a whole universe on their own. Beautiful freeform shape, quality and execution by the high-end department of Rörstrand. Signed with his full name, the Rörstrand logo and dated 1967.
Carl-Harry Stålhane was one of the defining Scandinavian studio pottery artist of the 1950s and 1960s. He made a vast body of work ranging from practical pieces to unique art pieces like this very bowl. He exhibited his works in Stockholm (1948 and 1949), Malmö (1949), New York (1960) and Tokyo (1966), His studio pottery works can be found in numerous museums, like the Nationalmuseum in Stockholm and the Museum of Modern Art (MoMA) in New York.
