Description
A fine example from a Lost Tree Florida estate. A fine example with original gilded decoration. Octagonal with grisaille painted dial and signed by Chevallier. Jean Gabriel Augustin Chevallier. 1778-1848 Established at 1 Quai de I' Horloge on the IIe de la Cit'e An optician by trade established in 1796 selling lenses, microscopes, barometers etc. In 1842 the business was sold to his son and moved to 15 Place du Pont-Neuf. Octagonal with two birds with floral wreath possibly symbolic of marriage.
