American, mid 19th c.
Cast Iron, mounted on wooden base.
Excellent “as found” original condition; oxidized surface with minor pitting.
Provenance: From the collection of Al Selnick, Hillsdale, New York; Allan Katz Americana.
Counter top cigar store figures, especially those depicting Indian Princesses are quite rare. This early casting is made in two parts, joined by screws. While having great definition and detailing to the overall cast figure, it also retains a wonderful weathered, oxidized surface.
