Description
This elongated oval centerpiece by Salusti is a sculptural fusion of natural texture and refined finish. Starting from a single ball of clay, the artist shapes the form by hand using a traditional pinching technique, allowing the vessel to evolve organically. Its surface is textured with embedded stone fragments, creating a rugged, volcanic-like exterior that speaks to elemental earth forces. Following multiple firings, the interior is glazed and/or lustered with gold, revealing a smooth, radiant surface that contrasts beautifully with the coarse outer shell.
