Housed in a wooden and glass vitrine, this small scale was once used for precision measurements. Made at the turn of the 19th Century in France, this mechanical wonder was crafted with an eye for aesthetics, the richly polished wood and meticulously crafted brass elevate this piece with an antiquated charm that is no longer bestowed on the tools of industry. The pride in its craftsmanship is revealed by a prominent metal name plate indicating the place where this scale was produced or used, ‘Dépôt de Marseille.’
