Description
Lapis lazuli, vermeil, enamel and diamond flower model in the style of Fabergé
Continental, 20th Century
Height 12.5cm, width 5.5cm, depth 4cm
Inspired by the legendary craftsmanship of the House of Fabergé, this refined floral sculpture echoes the opulence and artistry that defined the work of Peter Carl Fabergé (1846–1920).
At its foundation lies a striking rectangular base made from deep blue lapis lazuli, lending both stability and a vivid pop of colour. Resting above is a vermeil base fashioned in a graceful lancet-leaf shape, which supports an elegantly formed ovoid vase. This vase is coated in an iridescent enamel finish, radiating a soft, pearly sheen. A maroon cabochon stone is embedded at its centre. Around the neck of the vase, a finely set diamond band adds a brilliant accent, enhancing the overall sense of luxury.
From the heart of the vase, a slender stem of vermeil rises delicately, adorned with a single leaf carved from nephrite. At the top, a meticulously shaped white stone flower blooms, with a sparkling diamond-set stigma serving as its radiant focal point.
Spurious marks are stamped on the vermeil stem.
The unusual pairing of a lapis lazuli plinth with such a refined enamel and gemstone arrangement makes this floral objet d’art an exceptional and collectible piece.
