    Turin or Cagliari, Sardinia, circa 1768-1775.
    Marks: "M*L" and "FP" in dotted oval (representing the Savoy family)

    Pagliani was an expert taster of wine and food, who also worked from 1768 to 1775 as a silversmith for the Regia Zecca di Sardegna (the Royal Mint of the Kingdom of Sardinia) in Cagliari. At the time, Cagliari was inextricably linked, economically, politically and stylistically, to Piedmont, which was ruled by the house of Savoy.
