French Petite Bridal Box from Normandy
-
Description
Dimensions: 9 ¾” H x 15 ½” W x 10” D
A fantastic antique marriage or bridal box–from Normandy, France–decorated with hand-painted floral details that grace every surface, including a small bird on the top. Vibrant pink and cream painted tulips on a dark blue background have aged marvelously over the past two centuries, and expresses the trunk’s age in a manner that one can both see and feel. The minimal metal hardware has all been worked by hand. The domed top provides a distinguished style that sets this exceptional coffer apart from any ordinary box, circa 1780. Make sure to view the detailed images for a closer look. -
