French Wrought Iron Freestanding Firescreen with Warming Holders, circa 1880
-
Description
A French wrought iron freestanding firescreen from the late 19th century with warming holders and C-scrolls. Born in France during the Belle-Epoque era, this firescreen features a wrought iron armature made of two lateral twisted supports resting on arched feet. It is the central section of the screen however that attracts our attention, with its arched accents and its abundance of c-scrolls, lovely testimonies of the skilful mastery of French 19th century metalworkers. Two petite doors in the center open thanks to a latch. Perfect to be placed in front of a fireplace, this French screen circa 1880 will bring a touch of tradition to any living room.
