    Högänas, openwork dishes, Sweden, early 20th century
    Glazed ceramic.
    Oval: 2 3/8 in. (6 cm) high; 11 in. (28 cm) wide
    Round: 1 1/2 in. (4 cm) high; 9 1/4 in. (23.5 cm) diameter
    The round dish is impressed HÖGANÄS/05' under the glaze; the oval dish has a faintly impressed and indecipherable mark.

    This type of glaze applied to an openwork form with central Renaissance-inspired cartouche is a style associated with ceramics from Tillinge, Sweden, though it was produced by various Swedish ceramics factories throughout the 20th century. The glaze and style of the foot of the oval dish is nearly identical to the round dish, suggesting it was also produced by Högänas.
