-
Description
Pair of Italian hand painted grape vines with detachable majolica clusters of "lady fingers" grapes set in black galvanized bases probably created near Deruta, Italy in the 1940s.
Both vines are freestanding and created to be seen from all sides.
The pair of vines are mirror images of each other in their construction while the placement of the leave and wire hangers are not identical but similar in their placement.
The iron tube armatures have hammered surfaces with soldered stems attached to hand formed
leaves and brass wire hangers for the grapes.
Dimensionally each grape vine is 2 meters (80 inches) tall and a meter (40 inches) wide with a depth of 15 centimeters (6 inches) .
The black galvanized box bases hold stones and cement for weight and measure 25 centimeters deep (9.5 inches) by 45 centimeters long (17.75 inches) by 25 centimeters high (9.5 inches).
The vines slide out of the bases and the grapes slide off and are separately packed for safe shipment.
In addition there are 4 extra majolica clusters for backup in case of damage.
The pair are in very good condition if there are additional images that you would like just ask. -
